Ruthmere's popular Coffee on the Piazza series on Saturday mornings is all about fun and games.  Coffee on the Piazza on Saturday mornings is a time to S-L-O-W down, chill out with local talent, play a parlor game and soak up the rich environment that is the Ruthmere piazza, or as we like to call it "Elkhart's Front Porch."  From 10am-12pm every Saturday in June, July and August we will serve complimentary coffee, offer an "Open Mic" for local talent wanting to showcase their chops, and put out an array of entertaining parlor and board games courtesy of The Secret Door Games in downtown Elkhart.  Free Coffee provided by the Electric Brew of Elkhart.

All Pom Parents are invited to attend free of charge the chic Adopt a Pom Party, to be held on Thursday, August 10th, 6:30-9pm.  Make Ruthmere's Pom Party YOUR summer party by purchasing a Pom that allows you to invite multiple friends!  2017 Pom Party theme is "The Wall" honoring the restoration of Ruthmere's perimeter wall.  Entertainment will include the Greenhouse light show, a film screening in the Game Room of the 1982 British musical drama "The Wall" directed by Alan Parker and inspired by the 1979 Pink Floyd album of the same name.  Music in the gardens will feature "The Grand Vizier's Garden Party," "Dark Side of the Moon" and, of course, "The Wall."

Pom prices range $30-$1,000. Minimum contribution of $30 per individual or $60 per couple to attend the Pom Party. Purchase a more prestigious Pom and invite more guests to the party. Example: Adopt a $100 Pom and receive a Pom Party invitation for four people. Adopt a $300 Pom and reserve a table for eight. Donations tax deductible within limits of the law.  If you mail a check, please make out to "Ruthmere" and place "Adopt a Pom" on the memo line.

At the Pom Party, attendees can upgrade their Poms by purchasing any remaining available Poms or by participating in the “Premium Pom Auction.”  NEW for 2017, the Pom Auction will also include "Cash and Carry Art and Antiques," the proceeds of which go to support Ruthmere fine art collections.

Contact Executive Director Bill Firstenberger by special appointment to "Pick out Your Pom" and learn how you can become a "Pom Parent" supporting Elkhart's historic landmark. Deadline for Pom adoption is August 9, 2017.
