What If It Rains?
It never rains during a cruise-in, right? Drive-In Fridays are highly planned events with many moving parts (besides the cars!) that make these events a success such as musicians, food/beverage vendors, private collector displays, etc. We will post on THIS WEB PAGE at least 24 hours before the event time the local weather update and our plans for that month's Drive-In Friday event. june 30 a wet success!
The weather may not have been at it's best, but Drive-In Friday delivered a roaring start to the Holiday Weekend with 112 brave patrons coming out for support! Vintage cars from the private collection of Gaska Tape's Jack Smith Jr. saved the day and included a 1934 Packard, 1999 Lamborghini Diablo and 2015 Rolls Royce.
Food vendors stood tall and served up incredible food selections and presenting sponsor the Center for Hospice Care auctioned off a one of a kind painting from their art therapy program.
Jesse Ray and the Carolina Catfish did not disappoint, bringing virtuosity and energy the likes of which are rare from a two-man band--this nationally touring rockabilly band are now a part of Ruthmere's storied history of musical artists who have entertained crowds at Elkhart's Jewel of Indiana!
